Marle Place is a Grade II Listed 16th Century house with later additions set within its own grounds. It has a wealth period features throughout including wonderful old oak beams, a magnificent original 17th century dog legged staircase, large open fire places, 18th & 19th C panelling, wide oak floorboards, window seats and a Victorian conservatory. To the rear there is a large paved terrace partially hung with an incredible wisteria.

There are numerous outbuildings within the grounds comprising of a former cart shed, old stables, a potting shed, a studio, two Victorian greenhouses, children’s play dens, tree house, stable complex and yard and a Victorian ‘folly’. There is also a three bedroom cottage which is available to rent.
The Cart Shed outbuilding is available for private or corporate hire throughout the year. Approx 1000 sq ft of useable space, tables and chairs can be provided upon request and catering can be arranged if required.
The gardens at MPM change on an almost daily basis, bursts of colour appear over night in springtime and other more architectural plants take on different forms depending upon the season, weather and time of day. There are formal terraced lawns, herbaceous borders, a 19th C scented garden, croquet lawn, swimming pool terrace, rock garden, 1920’s grass tennis court all enclosed within a series of wonderfully established and dense yew hedges.
On the fringes of the garden there are mature Cedars, a Weeping Lime, Conifers, Horse Chestnuts, Acers and Magnolias.. There is also a magnificent Silver Birch avenue leading down to a Victorian orangery with views of a pretty natural stream whose banks are strewn with bluebells and wild garlic with woodland beyond.
The kitchen garden has two 19th C long green houses, raised vegetables beds, a fruit cage and a series of small parterres with ornamental planting enclosed by low box edging and gravel pathways.
To the south west of the house is a meadow laid out with specimen trees and a path leading to a lake edged with bulrushes and filled with waterlillies during the summer months.
There are also paddocks and woodland beyond that extends to approx. 25 acres.
MPM is situated 2 miles outside the village of Brenchley in the beautiful Kent countryside.
It is approximately 25 minutes from the M25 at Sevenoaks and 40 minutes from the South Coast.
The nearest train station is Paddock wood which is just under 10 minutes drive away and has direct trains into London Bridge in 40 minutes.
